We already know Wisconsin is home to more top-rated golf
courses than any other state and boasts over 500 total public courses, but did you know there are several successful golf brands based here as well? Gary D’Amato and I ran into many of the hard-working folks from these companies at the PGA Show in January and I was reminded once again just how strong Wisconsin’s ties to the game really are… Caliber Golf, Kenosha Former hockey players Tim and Chip Wright married their love of both sports and created the first putting grip + shaft that conforms with the rules of golf. Their design was approved by the USGA in
2021 and Caliber Golf was created. After a soft launch and market testing in 2022, the brand officially debuted at the PGA Show this year. -

You’re going to look at the Caliber Golf putter and think it’s a gimmick. Well, not if you’re Happy Gilmore. The Caliber Golf model features a traditional putter head at the end of a hockey-stick shaft—sort of like Happy’s model in the movie that he used to tap-tap-tap-a-roonie. However, the Caliber Golf hockey-stick putter is no gimmick. It may be a better way to putt for some. ORLANDO, Fla. — By luck of the draw, Caliber Golf’s putter display was placed next to a stand holding the Ryder Cup near the huge indoor putting green in the Orange County Convention Center.
Many attendees of the 70th PGA Show drawn to the Ryder Cup for a photo op couldn’t help but notice Caliber Golf’s hockey stick putters and wandered over to have a better look.
